Black plum which is commonly knows as jamun is a very famous fruit in India. It is well known as Jamun and belongs to the Myrtaceae family. It is also known as jambul, jambolan, jambas, malabar plum, rajaman, neredu, kala jamun, naval, jamali, java plum and etc in other regions of the world. It is very attractive, sweet and delicious fruit found everywhere during summer season. When eaten, it usually leaves your tongue purple colored.

For people that has diabetes, please consume this fruits moderately and keep your blood sugar level in track. This fruit has effect on lowering blood sugar level. Over-eating this fruit may lead to dangerously low blood sugar level.
Eating excessively, might lead to cough, sore throat and accumulation of sputum in lungs.
It is also not advised to be eaten after surgery.
Avoid drinking milk or water after having this fruit for atleast an hour.
